Special Education

Fall 2015

Dear Parents and Guardians:

Welcome to the Student Services web page for SAU 11.  I want to take a moment to introduce myself to you and welcome you and your child to the new school year!

Many of you already know me through my affiliation with Dover Middle School and Dover High School, and I am excited to have returned to special education.  I feel as though I am returning “home” as I began my career in education as a paraprofessional and then teacher in an out of district behavior program.  I have also worked as a case manager, building coordinator, and program coordinator over the past ten years and am excited to return to working in the world of special education.

I believe that my most important on the job training as a special educator actually occurred early on in my education, as a student with an academic disability. I have strong memories of struggling to learn things that came easily to my peers, and even stronger memories of the special educators who worked with me and enhanced my skills while restoring my self-esteem.

Over the course of the coming years, you can expect to see me in your child’s classrooms and programs so that I can better support you and your child as they continue their journey as exceptional learners.  The continued growth and development of our programs and our students is my first priority and a commitment I take most seriously.

Please take a moment to look through our links and information page as there are many agencies and resources listed that provide great information and support.

Also, we have added a tab for upcoming events that are of interest to parents and staff as we work together to support your child.

I am looking forward to working with you!

Best,

Christine Boston
